98FM, you can be proud of yourselfie

Adrian Kennedy is back on 98FM with his new Show, Dublin Talks. And ooh advertising is playing a big role in getting this message to the Dublin public. Supersides, bus and dart internals and 6 Sheets are all promoting the show but in a twist to the campaign the public are invited to take selfies beside the ooh ads and tweet them to 98FM, with the best examples winning an iPad. At the time of writing, almost 200 photos had been posted on the station’s facebook page. The fun and engaging campaign is another great example of an innovative and interesting use of the medium, and proves how well ooh can support an on-air radio promotion. The campaign was placed by Maxus and PML with creative by 98FM themselves. We do realise that selfie praise is no praise at all but in this case we’ll make an exception – well done 98FM!

PML Group Winners at 2014 Media Awards

PML Group were celebrating great success at the Media Awards, which took place in Dublin on April 3rd 2014. The company was named as the winner of the highly competitive Sales Team of the Year category. We were also awarded Silver in the coveted Media Brand of the Year category.

According the judges who sat on the Sales Team panel “PML showed clear investment in research, and tools to sell the medium and to deliver growth for outdoor. They used the medium to promote themselves. This was a unique feature of this entry. Shoe leather and getting out there and selling the medium was also very impressive. It was very encouraging the investment made in their primary asset – their staff.”

This is a fantastic testament to the company as a whole and we were all very proud at this recognition. Jimmy Cashen, Managing Director of PML Group commented “We are obviously delighted to be recognised by the Media Awards in this way. It was very satisfying to see that the judges’ comments reflected the areas that we also feel are crucial in driving sales and delivering on client service – investment in our tools and services and actually getting out and communicating directly with our clients. Our challenge now is to improve these processes further and bring further growth to the out of home medium”.

O2 Flys the flag

O2s Christmas campaign made a big splash on the streets in late November/early December. The telecoms giant, one of the top advertisers on ooh in 2013, employed a wide range formats, complemented by some excellent special builds to add that something extra at Christmas! Some of the campaign highlights included wrapped Adshels complete with snow scene atop, 3D 48 Sheets and Golden Squares, and sequential digital escalator panels in The Square, Tallaght.

Add to that the likes of T-Sides, i-Lines, Metropoles and 48 Sheets and its no surprise that the O2 campaign is one of THE stand out campaigns of Christmas 2013.
